Selection Process Eligibility List


The selection process will consist of two phases. The first phase will take place on Monday, March 5th with the written exam from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. immediately followed by a 30 minute timed written assignment.

Written exam scores will be given at 1 p.m. on March 5th. Only the candidates who pass the written exam will proceed to the second phase.  Interview times for the second phase will be given after written exam scores are provided.  

The written exam contains 70 multiple choice questions derived from the 2010-2011 Florida Criminal Law and Motor Vehicle Manual, Common Florida Statues, and Lake City Police Department Policies.  This portion of the process is open book. You are permitted to bring in hard copies of the study materials that have been provided online or your laptop, whichever you prefer.

The Administrative Skills Assessment and the Report Writing Exercise is not open book. 

The second phase will take place on Tuesday, March 6th.  You will be interviewed by two oral board panels. One panel will consist of the Police Chief and several executive leaders. The second oral board panel will be comprised of several city employees. 

Please report to the Lake City Police Department located at 225 NW Main Blvd at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, March 5th, 2012.
