The City of Lake City plans to apply for the Florida Department of Commerce FFY 24-25, State FY 25-26 Small Cities Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) in the Neighborhood Revitalization category for $211,000. The activities and estimated dollar amounts are as follows: Engineering: $28,000, Road Construction: $183,000

 

The City will repave 0.3 miles of asphalt on NW Georgia Ave from Early St to Wilson St in Lake City, FL 32055.

 

This project will benefit over 51% Low-Middle income persons, meeting the US Department of Housing and Urban Development's national objective.

 

In developing a CDBG application, the City of Lake City must plan to minimize displacement of persons as a result of the activities.  In addition, the City of Lake City is required to develop a plan to assist displaced persons.

 

A public hearing to obtain citizen comment concerning the City’s application will be held in the City Council Chambers located on the second floor of City Hall at 205 North Marion Avenue, Lake City, FL 32055, on May 20, 2026, at 10:00 AM.

A copy of the draft application will be available during normal business hours at the City Hall finance office by noon May 18, 2026. Final drafts will be available at the same location no later than May 20, 2026.
