Special Called Council Meeting Closed Session

The City Council of the City of Lake City, Florida will meet on Friday, November 19, 2021 at 3:00 PM in the Council Chambers located on the second floor of City Hall at 205 North Marion Avenue, Lake City, Florida.

The purpose of the meeting is to conduct an Attorney-Client session with the City’s legal counsel regarding settlement negotiations and/or strategy related to litigation expenses in the matter of Travis Koon, an individual, and The Law Office of Travis Koon, PLLC d/b/a Koon legal a Florida Limited Liability Company v Lake City Police Department and Argatha Gilmore, individually and in her official capacity as the Lake City Police Department custodian of records, and Befaithful Coker v City Council of Lake City Florida, Individually and Collectively; and Audrey Sikes in her official capacity as City Clerk of Lake City, pursuant to Section 286.011(8) Fla. Stat. The Attorney-Client session is estimated to be 2 hours in length and is not open to the public. Attending the Attorney-Client session will be the City Council (Mayor Stephen M. Witt, Council Member Jake Hill, Council Member Eugene Jefferson, Council Member Todd Sampson), the Interim City Manager (Mike Williams) and legal counsel for the City (Fred Koberlein, Jr.). The entire session will be recorded by certified court reporter Debbie Holloway.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN pursuant to City Code Section 2-32, the City Council of the City of Lake City, Florida, has called a special meeting to be held on November 19, 2021 at 3:00 PM for the purpose outlined above.

Pursuant to 286.0105, Florida Statutes, the City hereby advises the public if a person decides to appeal any decision made by the City with respect to any matter considered at its meetings or hearings, he or she will need a record of the proceedings, and that, for such purpose, he or she may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made, which record includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based.
