MIN. STARTING SALARY: 40,042.19 – 45,067.84

The City of Lake City is accepting applications for the position of Crew Leader. This position is a semi-skilled manual and lead work in multiple operations within the Public Work Department. This position’s work is performed under the general supervision of a Public Works Supervisor.

Ideal candidate will have knowledge in performing and leading crews in any of the following areas: landscaping and turf maintenance for various parks, fields and right of ways, installing turf and maintaining sprinkler systems and their electrical components, tree trimming and tree removal, asphalt work, pothole and /or asphalt patches, installing new storm water pipes and repairs cave-ins, and performing ditch maintenance and retention pond maintenance. The idea candidates will have the ability to perform heavy manual labor under adverse weather conditions; ability to follow written and oral instructions; ability to complete daily work sheets and keep records; and the ability to lead a crew.

Minimum Qualifications:

Applicant must have a high school diploma or general education diploma (GED) and two (2) years lead work in a supervisory maintenance work capacity. Applicant must possess a valid Class “B” Commercial Florida License and the ability to obtain pesticide applicators license, if required.
