Police Explorer Program
Youth ages 12 to 20* can participate in the Police Explorer Program. Explorers develop leadership skills while learning what it is really like to work in law enforcement. Participants assist the department with activities such as crowd control and traffic direction at major community events, take ride-alongs with police officers, and receive training in a variety of law enforcement topics.

The program provides valuable real-world experience for those interested in a career in law enforcement or public service. Explorers also earn volunteer hours and may have opportunities to participate in trips to places such as Universal Studios and Gatlinburg.

For more information, email explorers@lcflapd.com or call 386-719-5742.

Individuals ages 18 to 20 who have not previously participated in the program may be admitted on a case-by-case basis.
