Originally launched in 2019, the program was created as a proactive effort to engage local youth and strengthen positive relationships with law enforcement and the community. Research shows that unstructured time during summer months, when school is out and organized activities are limited, can contribute to an increase in mischief and petty crimes. By providing structured employment opportunities, the program helps students remain engaged while gaining practical experience that strengthens resumes and provides valuable professional references.

Participants will work Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with a one hour lunch break from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Students will earn $15 per hour and have the opportunity to earn up to $2,880 before taxes during the course of the program.
